Since I put up the photo, I took it down. I thank you, even though I have not revisited this tag in a lot of years. Next time, you may feel free to make the correction yourself.

This picture shows an empty water tank in Elstree Studios. The Big Brother House is built on top of it but this picture does not show that. Elstree Studios comprises of several Sound Stages and this empty water tank. The rest of what was the studios is now Tescos and the car park. You can still see another disused water tank behind Tesco's. If you look up the facts you will see I am right.

This is the oldest studio site in Elstree/Borehamwood dating back to 1914. It started as the Neptune studios and was subsequently Ideal, Blattner, Fuller, Rock, British National and National over the years. It then became ATV Elstree TV studios where many big light entertainment shows were made for the UK and US markets (Tom Jones, Muppets etc). ATV became Central and had to sell off their base in the south of England for licensing reasons. The BBC bought it to become the latest of many owners.

I think the centre of the 5 photos (the isolated studio building) was actually the Gate studio which was located alongside Elseree railway station a little to the west of here.

this set is scheduled for demonlition and a complete rebuild due to the advent of High Definition TV. Apparently the old set isn't up to the standard required for HDTV, so a new "real" Albert square is being planned
